The 2017 Porsche Macan and the 2017 Audi Q5 both deliver premium features, ample versatility, and the latest technology. Both also have a reputation for providing a thrilling driving experience and sporty dynamics. So which one of these German luxury SUVs do you drive home? See how they stack up side by side below.
The Macan will deliver more performance—that much is for sure. It will also offer more options to suit the needs of drivers here in Chicagoland. Take a look at the numbers:
Audi Q5: The Q5 starts with a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 220 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. The Q5 can be upgraded with a 3.0L supercharged V6 that makes 272 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. Audi estimates that the Q5 will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in only 7.0 seconds with the 2.0L engine, or 6.0 seconds with the 3.0L engine.
Porsche Macan: The base Macan gets a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 252 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque. That’s enough to help the Macan to a 0 to 60 mph time of only 6.1 seconds with the Sport Chrono package. The Macan S gets a 3.0L turbocharged V6 good for 340 hp and 339 lb-ft of torque, while the Macan Turbo gets a 3.6L V6 good for 400 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque. The Macan S will go from 0 to 60 mph in only 5.6 seconds, while the Macan Turbo only takes 4.4 seconds to do the job.
These two premium crossovers get plenty of premium features. The Porsche does offer some features that are not standard on the Q5, including a parking assistance system and HD radio, as well as a built-in hard drive.
